For the past 6 months, ISWS Ltd has been working in partnership with four European member states on the 3 year VOLUME (Volunteers for Unaccompanied Minors get Educated) project, funded through the Erasmus+ programme. VOLUME will produce a free online access training and information platform resource to aid the day-to-day work of volunteer organisations specialising in looking after unaccompanied minors.
The project commenced with a fact finding mission, undertaken in the five member states that outlined common key themes. These themes included the need for training, information, specialist input etc. to fill knowledge gaps present in the participant organisation’s training programs.
A desk-based research report outlining these findings was written by ISWS Ltd, it formed the foundations of the project and put forward proposals for potential modules for the online resource that is to follow. This is a fascinating project that will culminate in the production of a valuable open access resource available to all around the world. This training resource website is due to be published in late 2023, watch this space!
