Sport Ecomap Worksheets

Since we sent out our newsletter, we’ve had some lovely feedback about the Football Ecomap resource shared by Zahraa Adam in our previous post. Practitioners told us they loved the concept, but many also admitted they simply don’t have the time to create something like that from scratch, and we get it, caseloads, assessments, supervision, travel and everything else often means that doing the cool stuff, like designing creative tools, often falls to the bottom of the list.

So, we’ve taken that feedback on board and put together two simple, ready‑to‑print worksheets you can use straight away with young people which include an adaptation of the football ecomap and an addition of a cricket ecomap:

Both resources have the same three downloads

  1. A blank pitch

Perfect for mapping relationships, support networks, stressors, or key people in a young person’s world all through a familiar, non‑threatening visual.

  1. A sheet of shirts

Young people can colour them in, name them or assign them to people in their life. It keeps hands busy, reduces pressure and opens up space for gentle conversation.

  1. Prompt questions to facilitate conversation

If your football or cricket knowledge is lacking (no judgment here, it’s not my strong point 😉) then these questions will make you sound like you know a little bit more about what you’re talking about.

These worksheets are designed to be quick, flexible and completely prep‑free. Just print them, grab some pens and you’re ready to go. They work beautifully for young people who prefer visual tools, need something grounding during conversations or simply enjoy sport as a theme.

If you’ve already read the original post, this is a practical add‑on created directly from your feedback. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can read the full Football Ecomap explanation here.

I’d love to hear how you use these in practice, and if you adapt them in creative ways. As always, thank you for the thoughtful reflections that shape these tools, they’re better when we work collectively.
