ISWS Ltd are proud and excited to announce the publication of our Level 4 Qualification in Age Assessment.
For the past year we have been working alongside, TQUK, an Awarding Organisation to develop this qualification which will sit on the Governments Regulatory Quality Framework as of Friday 5th November – just in time for bonfire night!
Covering: case law linked to age assessments; the ways in which age assessments should be prepared; the impacts the age assessments may have on individuals; the importance of decision making and; the skills needed to write up an age assessment in a robust way, the qualification will help to ensure a consistent high standard of practice and a standardised framework and structure that will support Social Workers undertaking age assessments in a trauma informed, child centred way.
We strongly believe that a standardised training qualification will reduce the number of young people incorrectly put forward for an age dispute. Our vision is to ensure that children and young people remain firmly at the centre of what we do, whilst equipping social workers with the tools and skills they need to produce robust assessments where there is significant doubt about an individual’s date of birth.
Since the inception of ISWS Ltd, we have been working towards this qualification and are incredibly proud of this achievement. We look forward to sharing more information with you over the next few weeks.
